Background
Pawel studied electronics in Poland, specialising in neural networks and process optimisation early — long before they became mainstream. That foundation, modelling complex systems and improving how they run, has shaped his work ever since.
In the City
From 2006 he worked in the City of London as a specialist in business-process optimisation and decision-support systems. His work has spanned shipping and distribution, large international corporations, and smaller UK and international consultancies — but his preference has always been hands-on work with smaller, fast-moving teams, where one good system can change the trajectory of a business.
Growth-stage companies
The work he values most is with founder-led and growth-stage companies. From 2012 to 2015 he was part of the teams behind Matches Fashion’s transformation through its high-growth years — the period that took it from a roughly £10m valuation toward the reported £800m it reached in 2017. Close, hands-on systems work on operations and decision-making, at the point where it mattered most.
At mgctech
As mgctech’s CTO, Pawel leads the technology side (he joined in 2024). His focus is turning domain expertise into systems teams can actually run: practical, auditable, and built around how the work is really done — the same approach behind Cassie and ClaimCompass.
